Special Event-Tent Revival

The following is an invitation from Cornerstone Baptist Church's Pastor, Greg Kell:

Dear Church Family,

We wanted to send out this reminder to our congregation about the upcoming Citrus County Tent Revival that begins this Sunday, Sept. 12th, and goes through Wednesday, Sept. 15th.  The event is being held in Lecanto each night at 7pm just off Hwy. 44 in a field that is next to Crystal Glen subdivision and Homosassa Trail.  You may enter off of 44 or 491.  Our church will not be holding our regular Sunday evening services, but we are asking you to meet us there!  Evangelist Bill Bozeman from the Crusades for Christ Tent Ministry will be ministering each night along with area choirs.  The tent will seat approximately 2,500 and we are believing for it to be filled.

You may ask the question why is this so important to our Pastor, and our church?  The answer is simple.  America is in desperate need of a move of God.  Our country is in spiritual turmoil, and it is time that the churches stand together to pray for our nation, our state, and our county.  The Citrus County area is no exception, and we need to come together as the body of Christ and look toward the cross for guidance.  Our prayer is that many would come to know Christ, re-dedicate their lives to Him, and began to do the work that needs to be done to further His kingdom.  We are anticipating that God will move in a powerful way to stir the hearts and minds of everyone who attend and that churches across Citrus County will experience a continuation of the revival.

Please make your plans to attend now.  Even if you are not able to be there each night, make a commitment to come to the revival as much as possible.  It will be a great time of fellowship with other believers, and a wonderful time of worship, and a time of refreshing and renewal in the lives of many across our area.  Bring your friends and family, neighbors and co-workers, and meet us under the tent!

Hey moms,

It was great to see you yesterday, what a wonderful way to start the day! Next week, weather permitting, we'll "Play and Pray" at Whispering Pines Park, near "Puddles in the Pines". If it's raining we'll "Play and Pray" at Cornerstone. If you would, please bring a snack to share, we'll provide the water and popsicles.

In the month of September, Bruce Wenger, Minister of Youth at Cornerstone, will be our guest speaker. We'll also be introducing our new Bible study "Shepherding a Child's Heart". It's going to be exciting....you won't want to miss a thing!
Remember to encourage and lift one another up in prayer daily. You just never know what those around you are going through.

"Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24,25

The greatest is love

Hi moms,

I came across this the other day while reading "The Power of a Positive Mom". Hope you enjoy it!

1 Corinthians 13 (A Mother's Version)

If I correct your manners at the dinner table, but do not have love, I am only a clanging dinner bell. If I take you for your annual doctor's visit and to story time at the library, and if I stop off at the mall to by you new shoes, but I have not love, I am nothing. If I give you clean laundry every day and keep the house perfectly straight, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love kisses the boo-boo before scolding about running in the house. Love encourages creativity instead of worrying about the possible mess. Love carefully disciplines and always forgives. Love doesn't sweat the small stuff. Love smiles and hugs. Love takes the time to look you in the eyes and listen to your side of the story.

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
1 Corinthians 13:13

You are loved!

Loving Well

Hi moms,

You'll never guess who I had a message from on my answering machine when I got home from MIC today. TESTY! That's right, testy. And you know what it made me want to do? EAT...a lot and you know what I did? I ate...a lot, something BIG! Some of you can relate, some can't, testy people just make me want to eat! If you have no idea what I'm talking about , you weren't at MIC this morning. We started our Bible study, "Loving Well" and learned to identify four different types of people in our lives...people we are commanded to love.

1.) Joy - these people are easy to love, they bring us joy.
2.) Testy - these people test us, they're difficult to love.
3.) Foe - these people have hurt us so deeply, that if the truth was known we might say we hate them.
4.) Far - these people don't even show up on our radar, the cashier, waitress, long lost relatives etc.

We also learned Four Confessions.
1.) God is perfect love.
2.) Nothing can separate me from Gods perfect love.
3.) God pours His perfect love into my imperfect heart.
4.) Accessed, I can love anyone through anything.

Something to ask yourself.... Are you more loving than you were five years ago?
"But I say, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." Matthew 5:44

You are loved!

Share Your Bananas

Hi moms,
I wanted to share a few things I learned this weekend at the women's luncheon.
Nancy Kennedy was the speaker.
#1 The law of the jungle; stay calm, and share your bananas.
When you're going through the "jungle" called life, hold on to these truths.
Stay calm - God is never caught off guard, nothing takes Him by surprise. God always has been and always will be in control. God loves you, He sent His son to die for you. You can rest in Him.
Share your bananas - Share your testimonies, trials, and burdens. Share your faith, hope and love for Jesus. Don't be fake, be real. Laugh, cry, and rejoice with one another in the good times and the bad times. You never know what the people around you are going through, and they may need to hear from you.

New Bible Study!

We hope you enjoyed being pampered this week! Thank you to all the ladies who did the pampering!

Next week we will begin Beth Moore's bible study called "Loving Well". It's a four week bible study and it's great for busy moms. The cost of the book is $6.00.

Click on the picture to watch a video about the study!
"Some people are a joy to love, some are difficult to love, and we all have to deal with some people who are humanly impossible to love. In all those relations one truth endures. We will never be able to love others well until we have been loved well. And only God can ultimately give us the complete love we so desperately need." Beth Moore

The Principle of the Path

We are so thankful for our Pastor, Greg Kell. He came to spend some time with us yesterday and brought us a wonderful message.
Greg spoke about what he's discovered after reading a book called "The Principle of the Path" by Andy Stanley. He highly recommends this book to everyone. See below for some highlights from the book.
Buy from Amazon

“To get from where we don’t want to be to where we do want to be requires two things: time and a change of direction.”

“Direction–not intentions, hopes, dreams, prayers, beliefs, intellect, or education–determines destination.”

“We should break the habit of drawing a circle around individual decisions and events and dismissing them as isolated occurrences. These are steps. Steps that lead somewhere.”

“Prudent people look as far down the road as possible when making decisions.”

“Christians start talking about forgiveness as if somehow forgiveness serves as an escape hatch from the outcome of bad decisions.”

“When happiness points in one direction while wisdom, truth, integrity, and common sense point in another, that’s when really smart people start doing really stupid things.”

“Your heart can’t be trusted… The truth is, if you let it, your heart will direct you down a path that leads to the very spot you most want to avoid.”

“The choices are now. The outcomes are later. The decisions you make today have ramifications down the road.”

“One never accomplishes the will of God by breaking the law of God, violating the principles of God, or ignoring the wisdom of God.”

“I am constantly amazed at how resistant folks are to take their cues from people who are where they want to be.”

“We don’t drift in good directions. We discipline and prioritize ourselves there.”

Hi moms,
Just a reminder that Pastor Greg Kell will be our guest speaker this Tuesday. He's familiar with the study we just finished, "Feminine Appeal".

This Sunday he started a 5 week sermon series called "Road to the Cross". I'm looking forward to what God has in store. I hope you are, too.

Please feel free to invite a friend!

"Ladies Luncheon" with Speaker Nancy Kennedy and music by Beth Evans
Saturday, April 17, 2010
12pm- 2pm
Cost $7.50
We are in need of table hostesses. The table hostess is responsible for decorating and filling the seats at her table of eight. You can use the church table cloths or use your own, whatever you prefer. I was thinking that we (MIC) could host one table, or if you would rather host a table on your own that would be great. If you're interested, let me know. It should be lot's of fun and a great event to bring unchurched family & friends to. Moms, grand moms, daughters, sisters, cousins and friends are all welcome, it's a phoo, phoo girly thing!

Our "Blessing the Babies" for Life Choice Care Center celebration was a great success! Everything was so pretty! The decorations were beautiful, the food was delicious and the cribs were overflowing.

Altogether we received 2 playpens, 1 crib and 1 basinet full of baby items. We counted 1,472 diapers!

I'm certain that LCCC will be able to bless many babies with these donations.

Katie Chmura gave an awesome presentation about ABC for Teens which is an abstinence program that she takes into our Citrus County schools.

We've only just begun!

Hi moms,

This week we finished our Bible study, "Feminine Appeal" seven virtues of a Godly Wife and Mother. Although we're done with the study, we've just scratched the surface. Each one of us is a work in progress; it's a life long journey! Being a wife and mom is an incredible gift. I know at times it's frustrating, like when you're constantly pick up after people, doing your 27th load of laundry, or answering the same question for the 100th time. But you have been blessed and no one else can love your husband or raise your children like you can! I believe that God is watching and smiling over you and saying, "well done".

Here are the homework assignments for each chapter....

1) What is one way that you can "change your thought pattern" this week in order to cultivate tender thoughts toward your husband?

2.)Take some time to think and write down ways your children are a heritage, reward and blessing. Then why not tell your children how much you love them?

3.)Think about the one area where you are most in need of self control. Then remembering that we are totally dependent upon God's grace, plan to meet with Him every day this week.

4.)Are there any sins or temptations that you are currently "hiding" from others? pray about them and confess them to God. Set aside an hour to read the Song of Solomon.

5.)Ask the question "what would most help my husband?" What is one new skill you would like to acquire as a homemaker? How can you make this happen?

6.)God's love can redeem our unkindness toward our family, do we need to ask forgiveness of one or more family members? Do so today and trust God to work all for good.

7.)If submission includes helping our husbands to lead, what is one way you can use your gifts to assist your husband this week? Ask your husband to give you a "grade" in respect. Ask him to share why he gave you the grade that he did.

"The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you he will quiet you with his love he will rejoice over you with singing." Zep 3:17

You are loved!

Have a great week, Lori

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a special time of celebration with family and friends during the Christmas holiday. For some of us, our children go back to school Wednesday and life gets back to "normal". But this is not the end, rather it's a new beginning. It's a chance for each of us to recommit our lives, to live a life that is pleasing to God and show others the love of Christ that lives within us.

Jan 12th - Welcome back! Guest Speaker Karen Maddox - some of you may know Karen....she is a godly woman, a woman of wisdom. You won't want to miss her.

Jan 19th - Bible Study the "Pleasure of Purity"

Jan 26th - Healthy Living, wear walking shoes.

Wishing you and your families, blessings and joy throughout the New Year!
